Welcome New People’s Food Co-op CEO Adam Blackburn

Dear People’s Food Co-op owners,

On behalf of PFC’s entire Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce that the board has hired Adam Blackburn as CEO to lead our beloved food co-op.

Adam has significant experience as a general manager of a grocery chain in Iowa. He has also been a manager at two national retail outlets, including one where he oversaw 26 stores. Adam’s values mirror that of the co-op in many key ways. His family grows the majority of their own food on their farm. He reflects the co-op’s community values, as he has been a member of his city’s council and major pro tempore where he currently lives. Throughout all his work experience, he has demonstrated great skills in building consensus among colleagues while tackling challenging issues, including improving operations and sales.

Adam is especially passionate about how cooperatives are owned by the surrounding community. We look forward to seeing what is next for People’s Food Co-op with Adam leading the team. He and his family will be moving from Iowa to this area in early July.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the Board of Directors by emailing board@pfc.coop.

In cooperation,
Elizabeth Leighton
People’s Food Co-op, Board President
