Creamy Mushroom & Thyme Pasta

Ingredients

4 tbsp, butter

4 tbsp, cornstarch

2 cloves, garlic, minced

1 tsp, pepper

1 tsp, salt

2 1/2 cups, whole milk

1 tsp, ground mustard

1 ½ cups, parmesan cheese, grated

2 tbsp, olive oil

1 small onion, halved and diced

16 oz, mushrooms, sliced

½ tsp, salt

½ tsp, pepper

1 ½ tsp, dried thyme

Box of favorite pasta

Directions

Cook pasta as directed on box.

In a large saucepan, melt butter on medium heat. Add in cornstarch and stir until mixture becomes a paste. Add garlic, pepper and salt and stir. Pour in milk and stir until mixture becomes a smooth sauce – about 6-8 minutes. Stir in ground mustard and parmesan cheese. Turn heat to low and stir occasionally while cooking the mushrooms. 

In a large sauce pan, heat olive oil. Add onion and mushrooms and cook on medium heat until softened. Add in salt, pepper, and dried thyme. Remove from heat. 

Add mushroom mixture into sauce and heat on medium until everything is combined. 

Pour sauce over pasta and serve with fresh grated parmesan.
