DIY Café Mocha

Ingredients

1 cup brewed coffee

1 cup whole milk

1 tablespoon cocoa powder

1 tablespoon dark or bittersweet chocolate chips

1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons sugar, divided

½ teaspoon vanilla

Pinch of salt

½ cup heavy cream

Directions

In a large saucepan combine milk, cocoa powder, chocolate chips, 1 tablespoon sugar, vanilla, and salt.  Heat over high heat continuously stirring with a whisk in a vigorous motion until the chocolate chips are melted and integrated and the milk foams on top.

Stir in coffee.

Pour into 2 cups.

In a small jar with a tight-fitting lid combine heavy cream and sugar. Shake vigorously for 3 minutes or until cream forms peaks. Add to coffee drinks and enjoy!
