Tomato Sauce Ingredients

1 tbsp olive oil

1 garlic clove, minced

1 can of tomato sauce, 15 oz

2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp sugar

1/2 tsp red pepper

Sauce Directions

In medium size sauce pan, heat olive oil on medium. Add in garlic and cook a minute. Pour in tomato sauce and stir to combine. Add in Worcestershire sauce, sugar, and red pepper. Stir and simmer an additional 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let rest.

Cabbage Roll Ingredients

8 large cabbage leaves

8 cups of water

1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 medium onion, diced

1 lb ground turkey

3 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)

1 tsp dried basil

2 tsp dried parsley

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish.

In a 6 quart pot, bring water to boil. Once boiling, add in one cabbage leaf at a time. Make sure leaf is submerged. Cook for two minutes. Remove from water and cool on baking sheet. Repeat for remaining cabbage leaves.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil on medium. Add onions and sauté for 3 minutes. Add ground turkey and cook until browned. Add diced tomatoes, parsley, basil, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine. Remove from heat.

Assemble the cabbage rolls

Spoon half of the tomato sauce in the bottom of the 9 x 13 baking dish.

Lay a cabbage leaf flat on a cutting board. Using a paring knife, cut a v-shaped notch and remove the thick part of the stem. Spoon 1/3 cup of the turkey mixture into center of the cabbage leaf. Roll the cabbage leaf around the meat mixture and place seam side down in the baking dish. Repeat for the remaining cabbage leave.

Spread the remaining tomato sauce over the cabbage rolls. Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes - or until the cabbage is cooked through.
