Building Your Owner Sale Shopping List

The owner sale is here! People’s Food Co-op is celebrating our owners by offering 20% off ONE shopping trip April 22 - 24. If you’re an owner, you already know about the incredible benefits of ownership such as a 5% discount on 12 shopping trips a year, a monthly 20% off wellness discount, monthly stock up sales, discounted prices on classes, and now, add Owner Sale to the list!

Now is the time to maximize your savings on your favorite PFC items. We want to help you build your shopping list for the big sale April 22 - 24.  Below are three strategies to help you shop the co-op during the sale. Which strategy suits you best?

The Neighborhood BBQ

The weather is about to warm up, the landscape is starting to turn green, and the robins are here to stay. You know what that means? It’s BBQ season! Why not plan a neighborhood BBQ and get all of your friends together after a long winter? The co-op has all you need to elevate a basic BBQ into the best BBQ ever with a create-your-own Burger Bar! Don’t forget to pick up Co-op's Own™ Hamburger Buns. Grab a few bags of Whole Grain Milling Co’s tortilla chips and fresh made guacamole and salsa in the produce section and you have yourself the start to an excellent BBQ.

Burger Bar

Take your pick from local grass-fed ground beef, pork sausage patties, Ferndale Market turkey burgers, and a variety of veggie or plant based burger options. There is something for everyone! To make it a burger bar, pick up some Boar’s Head sliced cheese from the deli counter (Colby Jack and Swiss are sure winners), fresh lettuce, tomato, and onions, and offer a variety of sauces. We’ve listed our favorite burger sauce recipe below:

Creamy + Tangy Burger Sauce

½ cup of mayonnaise
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 tsp dijon mustard
1 tsp vinegar
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Chill until ready to serve. Smother burger and bun liberally.
