Italian Grilled Cheese Sticks
Ingredients
1 baguette cut diagonally into ½’ slices
Mozzarella cheese, shredded
Parmesan cheese, shredded
Basil paste
1 tablespoon butter, mostly melted
1 tablespoon olive oil
¼ cup jarred marinara sauce, heated
Directions
Mix butter and olive oil together then generously brush on one side of the bread slices and place butter side down on the hot griddle.
On half of the slices, spread a strip of basil paste to cover the bread, then top with Parmesan cheese.
On the other side, mound up shredded mozzarella cheese.
When mozzarella begins to melt – top mozz slices with basil slices and press down with the back of the spatula.
Grill until bottom is golden. Flip over and grill until the other side is golden.
Serve with heated marinara sauce.
