Cranberry Cider Sauce with Star Anise

makes 4-6 servings

Ingredients

12 oz organic Sundance Cranberries

1/2 cup apple cider

3/4 cup sugar

1 star anise

1 cinnamon stick

1 tbsp lemon juice

Directions

In a small saucepan combine apple cider, sugar, star anise, cinnamon stick, and lemon juice. Cook over medium high heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved and the mixture just begins to boil.

Add cranberries and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until cranberries burst, and sauce thickens.

Allow to cool and then refrigerate before serving.

Garnish with lemon zest if desired.
